I am a Clinical Psychological Associate who has been providing psychological services to adults living with a range of difficulties and diagnoses including anxiety, mood, and substance use disorders, as well as the aftereffects of trauma exposure for more than 25 years.  As a Psychological Associate registered for autonomous practise by the College of Psychologists of Ontario, in addition to offering psychotherapy, my practice includes engaging in diagnostic assessment.

I started my career as a generalist at the Homewood Health Centre in Guelph, Ontario, focusing on the diagnosis and treatment of mood and anxiety disorders.  I later moved to the Program for Traumatic Stress Recovery and concentrated on the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder, an area that continues to be a significant portion of my case work today.  In 2009 I expanded by scope of practice by joining the Addiction Medicine Service at Homewood Health and became the Clinical Manager of the service in 2013.

While I have worked with a wide range of individuals, many of my patients have been First Responders.  With this population, in addition to helping them cope with operational stress injuries (OSIs), there is also a focus on building resilience for future encounters, or for those recently released from service, emotionally transitioning to civilian life.

My training is in cognitive-behavioural therapy and I also incorporate elements of motivational interviewing, dialectal behaviour therapy, exposure therapy, and solution focused therapy into my practice.  In addition, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
